At the Olympic games in Barcelona,Susi Susanti qualified easily for the final.However Bang Soo-hyun from Korea won the first game 15-5.Then Susi Susanti take charge by win the second game 15-5 and the third game 15-3.

Two hours later,Alan Budi Kusuma won the men’s badminton tittle.When they return to Indonesia,there a celebration.Include a two hour parade through the street of Jakarta.A car with gigantic shuttlecock led the parade.

The following year,Susi Susanti meet Bang in the final of the 1993 world championships.Bang won the first game again,but Susi Susanti come back to win the next two games.

At the next Olympics,in 1996,thet meet again in the semifinal. This time Bang won the match.However Susi Susanti recover to win the bronze medal match against Kim Ji-hyun from Korea.She won straight set 15-6 and 15-3.

Susi Susanti and Alan Budi Kusuma married in 1997.
